Live Music Clubhouse

September 28th, 2011 by Annie

Hey everyone. I’m having a blast in TX this week & playing lots of music. I’m told that line dancing is in my future, as well as a cattle run that takes place in the middle of the main drag in Ft. Worth. I’ll be taking pictures, most definitely. *smile*

I’ve started a new place for community here on the website. There are live tracks from a show at Rockwood Music Hall posted (you can download for free), and I plan to put more up there as time goes on. Just click on the “Live Music Clubhouse” page above.

Here’s a video of us playing “Let’s Not Wait Too Long” from that show.

Thanks so much for your love & support.

Tinderbox Music Festival & I did what?!

September 6th, 2011 by Annie

One of the reasons I’m a songwriter today, is because of the encouragement and mentorship I received when I was a young girl. I’m always seeking out ways to keep music alive in public schools, and trying to find opportunities to connect with young people through music. That said, I’m beyond thrilled to be performing at Tinderbox Music Festival this weekend, and to have a chance to give back through the organizations Tinderbox supports. For those of you in the NYC area, the Band & I hope to see you on Saturday at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn!

About Tinderbox Music Festival:
Tinderbox Music Festival is an annual event showcasing a powerful and diverse lineup of established and emerging female artists producing innovative original music. Rooted in the vibrant New York City music scene, Tinderbox fosters community by providing opportunities to perform, collaborate, and connect. Tinderbox also donates 100% of its net proceeds to organizations involved in empowering the next generation of female artists including GIRLS WRITE NOW , an organization providing guidance and opportunities for NYC’s underserved high school girls to develop their independent voices and explore careers in professional writing, and the WILLIE MAE ROCK CAMP FOR GIRLS, a non- profit music and mentoring program empowering girls and women through music education and activities.

In other NEWS: Time has been FLYING, and so have I! (I can’t believe it’s September already. Where did the summer go?) I had my first experience zip lining over the Catskill Mountains over the holiday weekend. I’m not a thrill seeker per se, but I must admit that the sense of accomplishment I felt afterwards was awesome.  *big smile*

I’ll leave you with a few pictures from my little adventure. Wishing you lots of little adventures as Fall approaches. With Love, Annie

Minnesota Bound!

May 13th, 2011 by Annie

Mmmmmmm. Minnesota. Yep. On a plane tomorrow to my lovely home state. And Oh Minnesota, how I’ve missed you! As we all know, life gets crazy and busy, and mine has been both of those as of late. Getting back always centers me in some way, and I’m welcoming the possibility with open arms!

After visiting my friends over at the Kare 11 Today Show on Monday morning, I’ll be heading over to the Fine Line to play with my friend and super talented musician, Tyler Burkum. I hope you’ll come and join us! There’s a really amazing line up of handsome dudes (you should totally be jealous. me and four dudes. groovy.) and the Fine Line is just the coolest place ever.

I just added a show on Wednesday, May 18th. A Perpetual Dream is a non-profit organization in Minneapolis. They provide a safe and sober place for people of all ages to enjoy music. Robert was kind enough to set up an event at the Segue Cafe at 6pm. For more details, just click on the ‘tour’ tab above.

Looking forward to seeing some of your lovely faces soon!

With Love,
Annie
